The 400i and the 612.

Finally somebody likes the 612!!!
I convinced my Dad to buy a used one and DD the shit out of it. He is happy. And he lets me drive it sometimes. It's not the one with Manuél inside. But it's still pretty cool.

The 400 needs more power. It has a 4l v12 and like 3 hp. It is a Colombo, it can do better than that!

"like 3 HP" LOL
Malaise Era issue?
![]() 08/27/2014 at 18:23 |

haha 340hp ain't all that little.

Seriously, it had a 4.8l V12 and 310hp. What is this? Toyota was about the same level. 5l V12 and 300hp(some say 350hp). That probably wasn't impressive in the day, and it is even worse now! Like I said though, it is a Colombo, possible hidden potential! You know this thing

Well some of them had 310hp, probably when they switched over to fuel injection. I don't know how to explain it, but it just doesn't seem that powerful for a Ferrari or fast. Probably because some came with a 3 speed GM gearbox. LS swap anyone?

Colombo all the things!
We all need a V12 one day

You speak blasphemy.

I like the cheap ones!
Toyota V12
And of course Jaguar!

I speak to all those with an LS9! BRING FORTH THE POWER!!
![]() 08/27/2014 at 18:33 |

You need one of both!
Did you ever buy that Lexus LS400?

Not yet, my uncle still isn't sure if he wants to keep it or buy a new car. Then they have to decide on a new car. So we will see if I get it or not!

I feel that the 612 was one of the most (wrongly) unloved Ferrari's. I'd love to have a manual one in dark blue.
![]() 08/27/2014 at 18:39 |

Huh, neither of them appear to have a suit for you. Interesting.

I don't mind the 340 (kinda) hp, it is a grandtourer.

1UZ's sound like the gates of Mordor have opened up!

I talked to an owner of a dark blue 612 with the gated Manuel inside a couple of weeks ago. They're pretty awesome, though I'd rather take one of its successors and get an F12 instead.

my two would have to be the 206 Dino and the 550 Maranello

Sooo nice
![]() 08/27/2014 at 20:50 |

Me too!
So hard to find the manual ones in good colors...
![]() 08/27/2014 at 20:50 |

Very nice
Get a loan and buy the 550 before prices rocket!

The F12 isn't the 612's successor, the FF is.
The F12 is the 599 replacement.
They make 5 cars
-The California (new addition)
-MR sports car; 360, 430, 458
-Big GT;512, 599, F12
-four-seater; 456, 612, FF
-Super Halo Thing; F40, F50, Enzo, La Ferrari

they better not! They need to stay under 100k until I have my midlife crisis... in 30 years
![]() 08/27/2014 at 21:07 |
|
You're right. My bad
![]() 08/27/2014 at 21:09 |
|
Haha no way they'll still be under $100K in 30 years!
Even if they didn't appreciate in a real sense but just went up equal to inflation they will be over $100K in less than half that time!

haha I know, don't kill the dream!

SORRY!
![]() 08/27/2014 at 21:25 |

Wait. I just gave you an explanation of why you're wrong and all you say is "My bad"?
This is the Internet for fucks sake. Fight me, bro.

This isn't the internetz. This is oppo, a magical land separate from the dicks of the internet.

Not really a fan of the 612 (I'd rather have a 456), but I do like the 400i. It reminds me of another favorite coupe of that era, the Bitter SC (which needs to be lowered...)
I love the 456's red interior, and it looks pretty sharp as a wagon despite it not being brown or having a diesel engine.
And did you know that this was the last Ferrari with pop-up headlights? It's worth purchasing for that reason alone.
